Autodesk Revit Software For Mac
Boot Camp is also the only way to play some games on Mac such as Valorant because they have the Vanguard anti-cheat software which will not work in Windows on virtual machines such as Parallels.
Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Thanks for reaching out to us with this inquiry about the MacBook Air M1compatibility with Revit. The requirements for Revit 2022 products are linked below. If you have further questions about their software, please reach out to Autodesk.
Autodesk Revit for Mac is full BIM (building information modelling) software for architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, designers and contractors developed by Autodesk. Parametric components are the basis for designing building components in Revit. The main benefits of Revit software over other so-called BIM applications are its advanced capabilities such as smart objects, Collaboration via the cloud without IFC files, central files, live changes without manual checks for coordination, Low-cost Revit LT version for smaller BIM projects.
Revit for Mac software is based on a Subscription Plan which is a kind of rental term from 1-year to 3-years comes with Autodesk Technical Support, which provides access to the latest versions of the software also phone and online web support from senior Autodesk support specialists.
I would to say that I have no personal problem using Windows but over the years of bad experiences and crash I had no choice than to change platform and since I start with Mac OS 99.9% of my issues I use to have with windows has been solved. Now my question to Autodesk but before I ask my question I would like to made it clear to Autodesk that I am not a bootleg software user I Make sure pay my subscription every month which is $400.00 USD, now please I would like to know how long we as the hundred of thousand of Architect out there who are Mac user would have to wait patiently for us to have Autodesk Architecture and Revit for Mac OS?
If your Windows crashes, it is a problem with your hardware or software. The last time my PC crashed (not just a specific application) was maybe during or even before Windows XP times. And I use it a lot at work and privately with a variety of software and hardware. 99.99999% of all computer problems are in front of the screen
Yu can go to a Mac forum and learn about bootcamp to investigate if and how to run Windows for Windows-specific software on your Mac. I'm not Apple expert, but think this option is going away with their newer ARM hardware. But this a decision Apple made. Bring it up to them.
Autodesk did make AutoCAD native for Mac. The experience you get from mac is different from PC. More people stay away from Mac and keep using PC. As well interface is different. Jumping from ribbon to traditional buttons/menu seems inconsistent for users. I've use both and have to readjust and relearn where the button goes. If Autodesk did the same with Revit, you are going to get the same issue. This is why AutoCAD Mac is a test run to see if it is worth porting all their software toward MacOS.
As well keep in mind about collaboration. If you have people running all the software on PC, you probably won't have that on Mac. So you are cripple regardless what you do. Also think about larger firms and their investment. If you suddenly change one OS to another, some of the tools develop for PC won't have the same functionality on Mac. At the end the larger firm would have to invest more time and effort to make both platform works.
Always look at your workflow and see what works best. Never fall for sexy machine which Apple often wow the user. Apple tends to hook you into their sexy machine while you don't pay attention to the software that meet your requirement. Sadly if your software don't meet your requirement, you just buy a useless machine that won't do what you want. Unfortunately those who buy into Mac wants software to work with their need rather than you don't fall for Apple propaganda advertisement trap.
However, given that the market for second-hand software is very much in its infancy, it can be difficult to estimate how much a perpetual software licence will sell for. ProCADIS experts are available to provide guidance in this.
There are a multitude of factors which will influence the attractiveness of a software licence on the market. In order for a seller to recover as much as possible of the original cost of acquisition of the licence, the following influencing factors should be considered in order of relative importance:
Some software publishers have very high list pricing and then offer discounts between 80% - 90% more or less as standard; others only offer 10 or 20%. Why does this matter for second-hand software sales? The most obvious difficulty for a buyer of second-hand software is to purchase maintenance at affordable rates. The software publisher can attempt to discourage second-hand sales of their software licences by insisting on charging list price for maintenance and support. In the case of a software publisher that typically discounts by between 10% and 20%, this is not as much of a disincentive as in the case of a software vendor who typically discounts by 80% and 90%.
If the licence is being sold with a period of maintenance and support still to run, then this will obviously increase its value. Firstly, because during the maintenance period the buyer need not purchase maintenance. Secondly, because the buyer (or ProCADIS on the buyer's behalf) has time to negotiate with the software publisher in order to agree a reasonable price for a future maintenance term. Compared to requiring a maintenance contract immediately, this is a huge advantage to the buyer.
ProCADIS strives to reach agreements with software publishers. Our intention is to encourage software publishers to see second-hand software sales as an opportunity to expand their client base. Software licences that are no longer used provide no income for a software publisher, whereas a second-hand sale can give that licence a new lease of life, and gives the software publisher a new source of revenue from maintenance and support payments. By cooperating with software publishers, ProCADIS adds to the value to software licences by giving the buyers of that software confidence in acquiring licences with the approval of the software publisher.
The value of the second-hand licence will be greatly enhanced by the presence of a third-party support provider. The market for third-party support on software is growing rapidly. Rimini Street, Spinnaker Support, Alui, Support Revolution and CedarCrestone offer support on many software products from top vendors, often with better SLAs than what the software publisher will offer. As a seller, being able to offer the buyer the possibility to purchase third party support will greatly increase the price a second-hand licence will achieve. ProCADIS can advise you on this and propose solutions via our partner network. 2ff7e9595c
